Mike Anderson- Technical/Assistant Music Director and
Drama Teacher
Mike Anderson started out on stage at the young age of 3. By age
of 8 he was singing in front of 10,000 people in Atlanta GA and at that point he knew that performing was going to play a
major role in his life. Mike played college baseball at the University of Maryland, but realized he had to make room for his
first love, the arts. He studied at the North Carolina School of Performing Arts with the world renound Paula Sugine, Mezzo
Soprano for the Metropolitan Opera Association in New York City. He grew his love for the arts by being the lead drummer in
a band in the early 80's opening up for popular bands such as Pat Benatar, and shooting national commercials and films.
He continued to travel throughout the world performing both on and off stage with his most memorable performance as having
sang "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserable at the White House for President and Mrs. Clinton. Mike
has also trained musically on the piano, guitar, drums, and just about any brass instrument. His stage credits include roles
such as Jinx in Forever Plaid, Emile in South Pacific, Curly in Oklahoma, Gooper in Cat on
a Hot Tin Roof, and Montiere in Hello Dolly to name a few. Mike has directed Over the River and Through
the Woods and My Way at Angelo Civic Theatre and served as music director for Chicago. Mike received his
BA in Vocal Performance and an Associates Degree in Theatre Arts from Asbury College. He is currently working on an Adult
Contemporary Album where his song "Because of You" can be heard on a local radio station and will be distributed
as a single in numerous stores across Texas. Mike is the devoted father to Chelsea and Katelyn who have both already been
very active on the stage where they share their dad's passion for the arts.
