Theatre Imagination Station (Kinderdrama) (Ages 3-4) -Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00
Students step into the world of imagination and make-believe each week as we make times ever loved stories, nursery rhymes and exciting fables come to life with songs, costumes, props, and art activities. Students will use the art of storytelling to act out childhood favorite stories while working on verbal and gross motor skills in a positive environment. Storybook Theatre (Creative Dramatics) (Ages 5-6) – Mondays from 3:15-4:00
Does your child LOVE to make-believe? This interactive theatrical journey takes young creative minds into the open pages of some of the most all time favorite children’s storybooks! It’s the perfect way for young children to create and act out stories. Each week, students will bring a beloved story to life as they work together, recreating the story in class. By creating characters and participating in creative play and improvisation with a focus on acting and movement, students are guaranteed to have a creative time. This class will begin to give students the acting skills to start them on their dramatic journey. Students will also focus on Readers Theatre that introduces students to short skits and plays. So Ya Wanna Be An Actor” (Beginning Acting I) (Ages 7-9) -Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00
Learn basic acting techniques, tips and terms from Executive Director Angela Hill. This fun format introduces students to warm-ups, stage direction, theater etiquette, character analysis, scene work and more. Working with theater games and activities, students learn to express themselves and learn basic theater terminology while exploring character development, active listening, problem solving, and teamwork. A short performance will be held for friends and family at the end of the semester. Tuition is $45 a month – Instructor- Angela Hill
Acting OUT- Intermediate Acting (Ages 8-16) -Tuesdays 4:30-5:30
Students will gain valuable performance training through creating and performing scenes, Improvisations and monologues. They will work with classical, contemporary, and original scripts. Students will spend be rotating amazing SABA guest directors every 3 weeks in order to gain a wealth of educational information for 3 extraordinary performers. Dance BALLET
Creative Dance – (Ages 3-4)- Thursdays from 3:15-4:00
Designed to develop your child’s movement and skills through creative play, music and dance. This class will have a large focus on beginning ballet technique, rhythm, and gross motors skills. Students will also engage movement with props such as scarves, stuffed animals, hoops, balls, etc. This class will prepare students to move into a classical ballet class or other movement class. Pre-School Ballet/Tap (Ages 4-5) Wednesdays from 3:15-4:00
Dancers will learn the beginning elements of ballet and tap including the positions of the arms and feet, introductory level steps, terminology, and rhythms. The class will also encourage the growth of gross motor skills through musical movement activities. Tuition is $40 a month- Instructor- Angela Hill
Ballet I (Ages 5-7)- Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00
This class emphasizes the development of classical ballet skills with a focus on proper placement, alignment and coordination of port de bras with leg and footwork. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility. This class is appropriate for age appropriate students starting ballet or those who have had Creative Dance or a similar class. Tuition is $40 a month- Instructor- Kirstie Dugger
Ballet 2 (Ages 7-up)- Mondays from 3:15-4:15 Continuation of Ballet 1
This class continues to emphasize the development of classical ballet skills with a focus on proper placement, alignment and coordination of port de bras with leg and footwork. Students will continue to build their ballet vocabulary through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility. This class will begin to focus more on combinations at center and across the floor. This class is appropriate for students who have had at least one year of beginning ballet or pre-ballet or older students who are beginning ballet. Tuition is $45 a month – Instructor- Angela Hill
Ballet 3- (Ages 9 and up) Wednesdays 4:15-5:15
A continuation for progressing ballet students that continues to build students repertoire of ballet skills and terminology through warm-up, barre work, and center. Students will continue to develop body awareness and body placement and control while discovering the joy of classical ballet through technical combinations, pirouettes and adagios. Suppleness and smooth graceful movements are developed in these levels along with the coordination of head, arms, legs, and body. This class is age appropriate for students who have had at least two or more years of any basic ballet training. Placement by Instructor: Tuition is $45 a month- Instructor: Cassie Jackson
Ballet 4 – (Ages 12 and up) -Wednesdays 5:15-6:15
Advanced students continue practical skills, muscular self-control and basic coordination and expression. Students will aim to develop strength and stability in the demonstration of the pirouettes, balance, control, extension, fluidity, and in petite and grand allegro. Advanced students also study classical technique, repertoire studies, character dance, adagio studies, music, ballet history and body conditioning, concentrating on the mastery of more complex movements and combinations. Advanced students also have the opportunity to train for pointe during this class. Placement by Instructor: Tuition is $45 a month – Instructors: Cassie Jackson
Pointe Prep- (Ages 11-up) – Thursdays from 7:15-8:15
Designed to prepare dancers for the transition into pointe. Classes are taken in ballet slippers or barefoot and include barre, center work, and foot and ankle exercises to build strength, body awareness, and control and to educate dancers on correct alignment and injury prevention. Students are required to complete a minimum of one to two semesters before transitioning to pointe. The decision to promote to pointe is based on the instructor’s evaluation of each individual student’s progress and age. Placement by Instructor: Tuition is $45month – Instructor- Jamie Huff
TAP
Tap I (Ages 6 and up)- Tuesdays from 4:00-4:45
An introduction to the rhythm and coordination of tap dance. Students will learn the proper tap technique to create clean distinct sounds and later be introduced to rhythmic layering. Students learn fun upbeat combinations to music favorites! Tuition is $40 a month or if taken in combination with Jazz it is $70- Instructor Angela Hill
Tap 2 (Ages 7-up) Mondays 4:15-5:00
A continuation of Beginning Tap, this class will provide students with a strong understanding of basic tap foundation, terminology, timing and rhythm. An emphasis will be placed on explanation of terminology, execution of basic steps through more challenging rhythms, precise tap sounds, improvisational techniques, coordination, syncopation and technical execution. Students will jam out to exciting music creating one of kind sounds. This age appropriate class is for students who have had at least one year of tap and successfully mastered Beginning Tap. Tuition is $40 a month or if taken in combination with Jazz it is $70- Instructor Angela Hill
Tap 3 (Ages 8-13) Thursdays from 5:15-6:15
This course is for dancers with previous tap experience or who have successfully mastered a majority of elements taught in our beginning level tap courses. Students will learn full length tap combinations that will focus on precise steps and foot articulation, rhythmic awareness and layering, movement through space and will incorporate the use of arm and full body dynamics used in performing tap. Tuition is $45 a month or if taken with another 1-hour dance class is $80- Instructor- Angela Hill
JAZZ
Jazz I (Ages 6 and up)- Tuesdays from 4:45-5:30
An introduction to the energy and dynamic of jazz technique. Students will be introduced to parallel positions and begin to explore the direct, decisive, and sharp facet of jazz technique and its various rhythms. Students will work on the fundamentals including flexibility, jumps and turns. Students will also touch on hip hop and funk in this one of a kind class. Tuition is $40 a month or if taken in combination with Tap is $70 - Instructor- Angela Hill
Jazz 2 (Ages 7-up)- Mondays from 5:00-5:45 A continuation of Beginning Jazz, this class teaches technique for stability of movement will be a strong understanding of body placement and center are focal points of jazz class. An emphasis will be placed on explanation of terminology, warm-up, isolations, barre, and center with emphasis on strengthening turns, jumps, flexibility, technical execution, and combinations. Students will also be taught segments on at least one year of jazz and successfully mastered Beginning Jazz. Tuition is $40 a month or if taken in combination with Tap is $70- Instructor- Angela Hill
Jazz 3 (Ages 8-13)- Thursdays from 4:15-5:15
A continuation of Jazz. This class is for students with a sound dance background. Dynamic, energy, placement, improvisation, and intermediate level jumps and turns will be worked on. Classes will alternate between classical jazz, pop jazz, hip hop and musical theatre jazz. Tuition is $45 a month or if taken with another 1-hour dance class is $80 – Instructor- Angela Hill
Jazz 4 (Ages 12 and up)- Thursdays from 6:15-7:15
A continuation of Intermediate Jazz, this class is more technically and musically demanding and the class moves at a faster pace. Attention is paid to the quality of movement in addition to correct execution. Advanced progressions of turns and leaps are emphasized as well as other styles of jazz such as lyrical and modern as students’ dance artistry continues to strengthen.

HIP HOP
Junior Hip Hop (Boys and Girls) – (Ages 8-12) – Tuesdays from 5:30-6:15
This form of contemporary dance is seen in music videos. Hip-Hop evolved out of street and break dancing and is characterized by its athletic and bouncy style. Hip-Hop is set to a strong, contemporary beat, builds stamina, and emphasizes body isolations, attitude, coordination, free-style movement, and rhythm. This class features age-appropriate hip hop choreography with no suggestive music/movement. This is an excellent class for high-energy boys and girls who want to take a fast and fun dance class. Art Art Expression (Ages 10 and up) – Wednesdays from 5:00-6:30pm
SABA is offering an exciting new art class with the talented Jeska Bailey. Students will learn painting techniques as well as art history. Students will go through colors: blending techniques, self expression, and many other artistic techniques using an acrylic medium. Once students finish their projects, they will have an art show to exhibit their pieces. Art pieces will also be displayed at theatrical performances for public display. Tuition is $50 a month plus students will receive an art supply list and will be responsible for art supplies- Instructor- Jeska Bailey
